Youth Scholarship Program

The Emma P. Hendrickson, Charles A. Edwards, Marilyn Kalnas and Albert G. Gonsiska Jr. Scholarship Awards are sponsored by the Morris County NJ USBC. The awards consider bowling achievement along with scholastic performance and community involvement.

The 2026 scholarship program awarded a total of $4,000, with four $1,000 scholarships. Scholarship funds are placed into the USBC SMART program.

  • Applicant must be a junior or senior in high school.
  • Applicant must be a current certified/sanctioned Morris County NJ USBC member for a minimum of three years.
  • Morris County certified bowling history and tournament participation are considered.
  • Scholastic achievement and school/community involvement are considered.
  • Previous recipients are not eligible to reapply.
2026 application cycle has ended. The 2026 application deadline was April 15, 2026. The application remains available below for reference. New scholarship information will be posted here when the next application cycle opens.

SMART — Scholarship Management and Account Reporting for Tenpins — provides centralized management and protection of bowling scholarship funds. Bowling organizations across the country offer millions of dollars in scholarship money each season.

The New Jersey State USBC also offers scholarship opportunities for eligible youth bowlers, including the Stars of Tomorrow scholarship program. Check the NJ State USBC for current application dates and requirements.
